Great news for the dealers!

Actually, some of them probably will be. Costco is not a dealer, they only have pre arranged agreements for prices of units to their members, but the dealers still get the sales. No hassle, no effort put into the sale, just the sale. Sure, they may not carry the same profit as one of their own sales, but without any effort into the sale, it's a win-win.

Some dealers might not be so happy, but this is a volume sales oriented strategy....hope the customer service isn't lost.

I checked into this and my dealer gave me a better price on a sportsman 850 then I got from the cost Costco deal.

The Costco dealer was another local dealer to me and I got a price from them first. Then I went to my local dealer that I deal with and his price was better then the Costco deal and I did not tell him about the Costco deal either.

 Well I almost got it correct , predicted this just the other year , I thought it would be more along the line of Wal-Mart though :peace:

The 15% member discount on Parts is pretty HUGH!!
But i bet their service sucks and if you take your Costco bought toy to a dealer- yeah they will have to work on it under warranty- but it will go to the bottom of the list...and take care of the loyal buyers first.. just makes sense
It has it up's and downs IMHO..

I bought a few Fords and used the Costco deal. Made no difference to the dealer cause it came from Ford not their pockets. You negotiate, then bring out the Costco card, add the 1000 to the deposit and wait for the truck to arrive.
Other than the extra signature you are no different than the next customer.

Looks like you fill out an inquiry online at Costco.com and a dealer contacts you. I think it's a wash, either way. Dealer has another source of customer leads, and customers get to think they're getting a discounted deal. With sleds, I think the right dealer makes a HUGE difference, so not being able to choose the dealer you work with is a killer for me. Oh well.....
