has any one heard of any grass drags in WA or ID area yet

For some reason im remebering hearin of some in idaho this year but cant remember where in idaho or when. If you find anything let me know, i would be interested. They used to do them down here in utah, but stopped 2years ago, because " the competition was so bad people were loosin friendship" from what i was told. I always had a good time grass racin whether i won or not
i will let you know if i find some thing out.
We're having our fifth annual "Smokin Grass Drags" over here in Great Falls, MT. Sept.19-20 if you're willing to travel some.

The races are next to the KOA on the east end of 10th ave south. Just 60 more days to go.
I've been trying to find some since I moved out from back east. Xtreme Snowmobile Sports has a handfull every year. From what I'm told the USSRA stoped holding races a few years back from some kind of dispute

I would like to see another circuit or for the Extreme circuit to gain racers, classes and race more then 5 or 6 a season depending on which race gets cancelled. I don't see any laydown heavy mods or even full bodied Prostock sleds.

we do have highly modified boosted and n2o sleds in our extreme classes and you wont see pro stock sleds as we run mountain class drags i run my snowmobile the same in the mountains as i do racing and it works great as is the same with most everyone else
Ill be runnin my asphalt drag sled that im goin to convert to a grass drag sled for the end of the year in atleast logan. Its a lay down full blown drag sled, built it for grass and asphalt racin only. I have talked to brad and as long as it has a 136"x 11/2 paddles you are good to run, since they run the mountain classes
the interest is there, belive me it is. From what i have heard from people i raced with in the ussra things just got to heated in the competition. People still wanna do it, just not with alot of the people that raced in the ussra. The few years i raced i just did it for fun but know of a few people that cheated (runnin sleds that should have been in other classes) and most of them were officials. But how do you prove that an official cheated? You cant. This xtreme club seems to be alot better, i have recieved alot of info from them and they agreed with me about the demand for people wantin to do it just not with ussra because of the rep a few of the people that raced with them gave. I think the reason it looked as if no one wanted to do it was because people got sick of the bull**** that went along with the ussra (thats why i quit racin) so they quit doin it. And that is why the xtreme club is still around and not the ussra. Dont get me wrong i know everyone has a competative bone in them and im a culprate to, but there needs to be a line drawn sometime. When people get into fights and loose friends over racin thats when the line has been crossed, and thats what happened with the ussra. I would love to have the ussra back because its close and i love ridin sleds all year long, and i think they could have a good thing, but some things need to change before they were to start anything back up
Ive been waiting for a thread like this.. i have wondered why the decline of racers in the USSRA and would like to solve the problems and maybe get it back up and going.

I'm not saying that there wasn't some things done that shouldn't have been done but if we don't know what the problems are we can't fix them.
All clubs have there drama..some more than others.. USSRA has always had SOME of the fastest sleds around(I didn't we are the fastest) and when the average guy brings out his mountain sled and get's wooped on by a guy that has only a race sled..well the race sled is cheating cuz i beat all my buddies on the mountain so it must be a big bore or ect ect ect... seems like when your winning your always accused of cheating cuz people don't like to lose.

I raced the ussra for many years and I was pleased with the races.
They were well organized and put on a good race.
I feel alot of feelings got hurt because the average joe couldn't compete with the guys that had the time and MONEY to test and tune. It seamed to come down to the same people winning over and over. Don't get me wrong there sled were fast. But the compition of the people racing was not the same across the board. You had the pros and you had your guy who brought his sled off the mountain to come out and have fun and he got 2 passes and was done per class. I know there is not enough people to brake it in to pro and newbee classes but would help keep people around.
Basicly it all come down to Money and who ever has the deepest pockets wins we all know that

Fortunately Xtreme Snowmobile Sports offers both Amatuer and Pro classes stock improved and mod and we have a lot of fun plenty ofracers to run most of the classes
