Grand Mesa Area

Hey locals! Is this a pretty good/accurate trail map for the area? http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/recreation/map/vis_maps/gmug/grand-mesa-nf-map/index.shtml

We are headed up over Thanksgiving and have never ridden the area.

That map is not going to do you much good. Go to CSA, they have a better one. Conditions are good for pre-thanksgiving, with 2-3 foot snowpack in most places. Some honey holes are 4 plus. Head EAST from the lodge, hit the SP trail at Big Creek Reservoir and head east again. You'll find plenty of great places to play in short order and will have significantly more snow than heading west from the lodge.

Conditions

I think the conditions described above are right on. If you have any questions once you get up here or want to stop in to say hi, stop into Thunder Mountain Lodge. I'll be here or riding a few times this week also. Thanks, Jeff
