Grand Lake

There starting to get to be some snow there. You really have to get up high around Gravel/Little Gravel to get decent stuff. There is snow none-the-less. Another good dump and it'd really have a better base. Maybe I'm picky...but you'll have snow to play in.

There are still rocks showing on parts of gravel mtn. It is hard pack short track riding. The trees don't have enough to ride without worrying about hitting stuff. The trails were groomed well. We were up there on sat.

We just returned from 5 days there. It's starting to make a base but it's getting all tracked up. We found a few buried logs and rocks, but all in all it was a good ride. Anybody looking for lodging there should contact The Gateway Inn. Great place, very friendly staff that go the extra mile to make sure your stay is a great one. Tell them Team Steep and Deep sent ya...

Any updates on this last storm? I want to get up to GL this weekend and would prefer to be able to ride from town.....there was no snow in town this past weekend but maybe now??

I was there yesterday and it looked bad! South facing slopes are bare. Can't be but a foot or two anywhere else.

Crappy down low, but trails are rideable. Above 10K to 12K' 4 to 6' base. 6 to 12" out of this storm.

trail to town

I see the trail to town is closed. Anyone know if you can still access trail from columbine lake going up in 5 days?

We rode from the 22nd through the 25th. Big storm that pounded Denver fizzeled by the time it got to G/L. Seemed they would get a couple of inches of fresh towards the top every day but down low is suffering bad. The riding at the top is ok but getting there is going to be tough for all of the mud, rocks, and tree stumps at the bottom >>>>.

These pics will tell the story of the town and Idelglen conditions >>>>.

There was a mixed snow depth all over the mountain. Top of the world had spots that were waist deep and some spots were just to the belly pan. Some of the meadows were chest deep. And it looks like they are getting snow as we speek !!! >>>>.

Ok it's April 9th and I think I'm realizing spring is here and I'm not going to ride again until December !! The spring work load has hit and I'm swamped at the shop. But I find myself looking at these pics and wishing I was back on the mountain !!! >>>>.
