Grand Lake/Winter Park

I'm looking to Ride around Grand Lake/Winter Park area for Thanksgiving weekend. Has anyone heard how the riding is in this area? Enough Snow yet?

Thanks,

Grand Lake will be iffy at best.....I'll probably try a ride then, but most likely just on trail since it'll be too thin for off-trail. There's probably a couple of feet at altitude, but getting to it is the trick.
I know some guys on here have been hitting Corona pass, which should have gotten a good shot of snow over the past couple of days. hopefully one of them will chime in on conditions there.

Grand lake area

We're actually staying about 20 miles south of Walden in a friends Cabin. I'm trying to find the best riding. I'm wondering if Rabbit ears pass would be a better option? Any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just remember that wherever you choose to ride at, just have plenty of dudes along to dig out the sleds !! Early season conditions usually equal getting stuck in a big way >>>>.

Grand Lake (at altitude)was the best it has been in years at this time of year over T-day weekend. plenty of powder up high (felt like mid-season) and the trails were groomed to perfection aiding in quick runs up and down. awesome early season weekend. should be a good year if this keeps up.

I've never riden in Colorado before. I noticed on the trail map for Grand Lake area there is a marking for play area? Does that mean those are the only areas that allow off trail riding? WTF

How about bc skiing around Grand Lake? Any good areas? I'm a Minnesota guy leaving all my gear in Denver this year so I guess I'm curious about the Grand Lake area or should I be looking elsewhere? Looking at the Snowies also, how do the areas compare?
