For a pure handheld GPS, I like my Garmin 60CSx. Lots of memory, great color screen you can read in the sun, killer antenna (reads thru my pack), decent battery life.
The 530 is great but have to have others in your group with them. They work great to find each other as you show on other 530 when you use the 2 way radio
Rhino's all around for my group. We wouldn't come back with the same amount of people we left with if we didn't have them. The two way radio sends your position to the rest of the group. Works great and once someone gets separated it's already paid for itself.
I bought a Garmin Rino 530HCx earlier this fall. I really like the features, and ease of use. It combined my other radio and GPS into one unit with a whole lot of other things.
