I thought I'd share a great experience I had with Klim...

I tore a couple little holes in my Klim Valdez Jacket last season riding through some nasty burned out forest in Okanogan. Sleeve caught a branch. I lived with it because I didn't want to send my jacket off to Klim for repair during the season. Well now was the time to call up Klim and pay them to repair my sleeve before the snow. I spoke to the very nice customer service folks. They had me mail it to them and told me there was a $50 minimum charge for repair. Sounds fair to me on a $500 jacket. A couple of days later I get a call from Klim. I'm expecting a large bill... NOPE. Warranty for FREE!!!!!!! So now I'm really impressed. Today Fedex shows up at my door. I open the package knowing my coat is in there and I'm looking forward to seeing how they repaired it. NOPE. BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT! Not my old coat, but the latest, newest, bestest!!!!! I'm so impressed. Way to go. Customer for life.

THANKS KLIM!!!!!!

Thats good to hear!

Klim needs to straighten there Canada warrenty department out though. I was denied on a pair of gloves that were ripping apart at the seams, deamed "past the life of the item" and they were only 2 years old.
Meanwhile items ripped by the users are getting replaced for free in the states.
Many other canadians have had negative experience with klim in Calgary.

What gives?:face-icon-small-con

Glad to hear you had a good experience! I had the same thing happen last year... snagged my coat on a branch, sent it in for a paid repair and got back a brand new coat warrantied for free! Klim rocks!:face-icon-small-coo

Not sure why...?

Klim has replaced a set of gloves for me too... same issue season before last. I didn't ask them to. I just sent them in and they warrantied them. Sent me the brand new set. Very impressed. Both the Jacket and gloves were bought in 2009 at the same time.

Thats good, if i have to do it again i will request to send it to klim USA.

Also heads up for other Canadians to request sending it there!

I would love to buy your used -ripped coat

i spent all my extra $$ on a new Camaro for the Wife

I don't have it... or I'd keep it for a back up. Actually that was my plan if the repair cost was too much.

Great news to hear. I just sent my bibs In for a dry test, hope to get the same treatment. Sad to hear some problems coming out of klim Canada though as I just sent um off to klim in Alberta. After talking to there rep he assured me they would do there best...sometimes that all one can hope for.
Cheers

Same thing happened to me last year on my Klim bibs. Cant beat that kind of customer service, shows me that they value customers.

Nice to hear. I look like a Klim poster boy when riding. Have never had any issues yet.

Klim had a display at Haydays where the sewed 4 "D" rings to the bottom of a Valdez jacket. The had a super beefy aluminum coat hanger in the jacket and had it hung from a hoist about 15' in the air. Then from the 4 "D" rings they had a Yamaha mountain sled with dome mods suspended about 4 feet off the ground. You put your contact info on the card and try to guess the weight. I can't eben remember what you win , but thought it was a cool idea. Surprised they didn't have a Polaris hung there since they are the owners now.( I guess they wanted something heavy to be a real test)

Glad you had an excellent experience, this is usually the case with any of our customers that have issues with their products! Kudos Klim!

Klim is simply the best!! Their product, design, commitment to the sledding community, customer service, and warranty are second to none!

That is a great customer service Klim has going I have heard many of the same stories. Hopefully people won't start taking advantage of the service and abuse it.

FYI - If you guys suspect a leak you can also send in your gear to Gore-Tex. Gore is great for dry testing gear and issuing new replacement gear of equal value.

I agree with the group that Klim rocks.

Not happy

I have had their gloves tear between the fingers during just one season. yes, I have gotten them to warranty them, but the amount of time and postage, they are not worth it for the price. I bought some gloves from R u Outside on sale during the off season for $25-$34, and they are still going strong after a few years. At that price I buy 2-4 pairs, if I lose one or wear one out I can mix n match. On a side note the Polaris dash glove dryer ROCKS!!!

I have had the same experience with KLIM. They are a great company to deal with. Yes their gear is expensive up front but you get what you pay for. And their stuff is top of the line. I had a par of bibs that melted a bit on the leg when a sled caught fire. I sent them in on the off season to get repaired. Same thing $50 minimum and that was fine by me. Just wanted them repaired for the next season. I too got brand new bibs because they we leaking in the bottom. They definitely have me as a customer for life.
Items I have bought from KLIM over the last few years.
(2) pairs boots.
(2) Pairs Gloves
(2) Jerseys
(2) pairs bibs
(2) pairs of Mojave pants
(2) pairs of socks
(1) Coat
Its nice to have back up stuff for others to wear when they forget something. LOL
Stuff I have bought from others since I discovered Klim
(0) anything.

I have had pretty good luck with their products but their gloves SUCK.

I have demoted them to spring and fall duty on the 4 wheeler cause they are useless in the winter.

Their pants and jackets are great however.
