Good morning family. Let me start off with saying, everything is fine,
now.
What happened to us last night, made me think that all of us should have
a plan of "what to do"?????
We had an attempted break in last night. The man/idiot who tried to
kick in the glass window pane, next to the front door, is in custody.
So that is comforting in a way. He was so drunk/high, that he kept
kicking the glass to get in, all while the alarm was blaring. It started
off, when I heard someone trying to break the front door down, and woke
KC, (screaming someone was trying to break in-not a nice wake up call)
Kase went straight for his gun.....The alarm hadn't gone off yet, cuz it
only trips if you open a door or window. KC went out of the bedroom to
investigate while I called 911. I had 911 on the phone when KC saw the
guys legs thru the broken window...he ran to the bathroom to open the
window to trip the alarm. Once he tripped the alarm, our phone went
dead. The alarm company told us later that that happens because the
alarm is sent thru our phone line. 911 had enough info to send the
helicopter and police....once I heard the helicopter, I went and shut
off the alarm. The reason I did this was because the alarm was
deafening inside the house. I had no idea where KC was and if he was
ok. I had just heard him yelling at the top of his voice. The idiot at
the door was screaming at us to let him in, and wouldn't let up. I was
trying to scoop up Hannah and Samson, and keep them safe, and that's
when I saw KC standing in the kitchen pointing the gun out the window,
at the guy. He said it took extra sense in him to keep from putting a
couple of rounds in the guys legs. The guy was "relentless". I
obviously was hysterical while on the phone with 911, so when I told her
my husband was out there with a gun, they must have thought it was Kase
trying to break in. This is one of the reason's KC and I feel strongly
to come up with a solid plan. I had to keep trying to call 911 back,
but it took a while for the phone to start working again. (Denise
knows, because she is the second call from the alarm company, and she
kept trying to call us, and just got a busy signal). The police showed
up so quickly, again very comforting.
We are working on a plan. I want to make sure that you all have a plan.
It's scarey not knowing if your loved one(s) are ok on the other side of
the house or not. My cell phone was on the kitchen counter.....I don't
know how to work KC's cell phone....my land line went dead! What do you
do???? Make a plan, because all I kept thinking about was what if this
was Chase and Chan....what would they do? I have cried alot of tears,
but now I'm mad. I know alot of you think I'm a paranoid freak...but
this situation could have turned out alot worse. We are working on a
plan.
Please make your home and yourselves safe.
Love, Pam and KC
