Got a new job-moving

Looks like my family and I will be relocating to the Bridger Valley. I've ridden over there once and wasn't overly impressed. I know if I head north there is awesome riding, but does anyone ride in the Uinta's around that area? I'm concerned they don't get enough snow on the WYO side.

If anyone close to the border wouldn't mind another tagging along I'd being willing to travel a bit.

Thats what I figured, I know a lot of guys ride from Evanston, my guess is they are heading down to Utah. This is where you guys come in! Help please!

What side of the snowies you coming from?

I'm not sure about that side of the uintahs but the Utah side is pretty good.

90 miles north of bridger is some great riding but you'll need someone to show you where. I've been there 1/2 dozen times and I still don't think I could find my way in to the good stuff.

We're coming from Laramie. I've ridden Horse Creek from the Pinedale side and spent a week riding Towgwotee on two different occasions. I've heard there's some good riding around Kemerer but never been there.

My new job will allow me the means to travel with time off and such so I imagine I'll be back in the Snowies often and hopefully I'll find some guys in Utah and Wyo to ride with that aren't too far from where we'll be.

Thanks for the help! Anymore help is greatly appreciated!

Who are you going to work for? What town are you moving to? My wife was born and raised in Lyman. There are a lot of sledheads in the Bridger Valley that are good guys.

Any of the riding accessed out of the valley will end up in Utah but there is plenty of great boondocking to be had (no wilderness included of course) within a half hour drive southwest or southeast from Mtn View. There's no need to drive the 65 miles to the access north of Evanston on Hwy 150 (mirror lake hwy.) You're better off to either hit Kemmer to Horse Creek west of US 189 or better yet add a few miles and try Star Valley! The Salt River range from Smoot to Alpine (worth the extra 55 mile drive) has the most Revelstoke like riding in the lower 48 IMHO! The only thing close is the Ruby Mountains south of Elko, NV but 99% of the riding there is in wilderness boundaries.

My guess is once you experience/learn the riding from the North Slope north to Star Valley and in between the Snowies won't be a thought! Besides I-80 sucks in the winter.

Good luck with the move!
