goodyear drive belt part #

Blew an XS809 yesterday on a good pull. Made some bad noises when it made a lot of pieces.

I'm interested as well.

XS 809 works really well - I have about 650 miles on one and it still looks good - no vents - all mountain riding...

From a durability standpoint... IMO... the 3211115/122 belts are the best... and the only belts I will rely on. Pricey, yes... worth it to me though.... this is THE link from the motor to the rest of the sled... Blowing a belt under load can have catastrophic effects on the crank and primary clutches.

Talking with engineers at Carlisle (they make the 809's) and Goodyear... they dont have a belt, yet, that will compare directly... Carlisle is working on it though and we should see something for next season.

I tried the goodyear... and had it break after about 100 miles of use. I washed it and broken it on easy trail rides before any hard pulls plus have vents on sled. Went back to the trusty Polaris 115.

The goodyear belt has good reviews in the IQ section, but they were really cheap. Now they are hard to find and if you do find them they are not too far off from the OEM Polaris. Why bother if you can't save much $$$?

Anyone have much luck running a Cat 0627-048 belt? I have heard the Turbo Polaris guys love them. I just bought one to try out. $60

I'll measure it later on.

Edit, quick search says the dimensions are : Dimensions of this belt are 1.448" W x 46.986" L

**0627-048 47 ± 3/16 inch 1 15/32 inch

isnt the cat belt a 28 degree sidewall angle?

The IQ/PRO clutches are machined to 26 degrees.

HMMM.

IMO...Dont risk the crankshaft or performance loss.

Run the 122 belt if you want to save some $$

Measurments:
36 mm outside, 29-30mm inside
16.5-17 mm thickness

36-29 = 7

7 / 2 = 3.5

3.5 /16.5 = 0.212121

Invert Tangent of 0.212121

Basically 24 degrees.

When the belt leaves the sled, the motor apparently shuts itself off at 9000 rpm. Takes a while to restart it... not sure if the brains shut the power or the fuel off, but I had spark, but took a lot of pulls to get fuel back into it to run.

Math if anyone cares for future reference:

Have you ran this cat belt?
Hows it working?
Longevity?

~$120 less....seems worth considering, trying, looking into....
Guinea pigs go! :)

I have not ran it yet. Just for it cleaned up. Going to do a heat cycle on it soon.

Above free agent has said she ran them with no issues.
