goodbye 2012

It really pains me to write this but the 2012 Snowmobile season unfortunately came to an end for me today. While holding a side hill on semi steep face (right foot on left board) my left leg fence posted and caught on a rock, bending the complete wrong way. I got pitched off downhill and then bam.....sled ran over me and I herd/felt my left knee go pop. No good guys. I am certain my season is done. Sucks real bad. On another note there is a td8 for sale 7k firm. Guess the rehab begins soon.:face-icon-small-sadi

No!

Just because their Big, Does not mean their Good!

For the 8 months of hell they put my family through, I would beware. It was only a simple ACL/MCL that went bad!

Sorry to hear about the knee! Hopefully it can be repaired quickly and PT goes smoothly.

While I've been extremely fortunate in life for being healthy, if there is one thing I've learned about the medical field, it is get second opinions and do your research. Doctors and nurses are human, they will make mistakes. Ask questions. Research their recommendations and your ailment. I'm not saying be suspicious of their every move, they generally are very good, but they are imperfect.

My buddy is have his ACL rebuilt by them on Wednesday. Ill let you know how it goes. He knows its bad as he messed it up in Highschool too.

Sucks to hear about the knee, Snoman.

But try giving Steadman a call, they helped me with a blown lower back. Back in 09 I had two severely herniated discs and they helped me through it with a couple rounds of injections, followed by a good series of PT and rehab exercises. No getting under the knife at all and I have had zero issues. Knock on Wood.

well that sucks I was looking forward to smoking you at the drags! Heal fast !

Crazy....Guess I will have to go to the drags and beat all these turbo pro's on my 600 :face-icon-small-coo (really just jealous I dont have one any more:face-icon-small-dis)

I will have someone run my sled in the drags for me now. Your going downnnnnn. I will still be up there as a spectator, probably entering the coors lite race as odds on favorite to win.

And for some reason Burr gave me a bad post rating for this thread. I hope your thumb just hit the wrong button cause not sure what about this is negative for anyone other than myself. Oh, and its negative for Kreg because now he will have to live with losing to my sled with a replacement rider on board. LOL.

Hopefully we will be able to make it.

Please do try to make it. I told some of the local guys about your 600 the other day after we talked at that "down south" parking lot and they laughed at me. Said bring it on. I love when there is somebody's ego is on the line. It will give me a smile ear to ear to have you beat some certain turbos running around down here.:face-icon-small-coo

If your start strengthing your supporting muscle groups (quads, glutes, hams, and calves) then recovery from surgery will go much faster. Steadman is good. But I have heard that they have slipped a bit. They are bringing in surgeons sometimes instead of cultivating there own. However, this is Colorado and its just an ACL (dont want to sound harsh, it sucks for you, but there are a lot of ACL surgeries in this state) and a lot of good surgeons. Try to use a cadaver ACL as that seems to be the best acceptance for men. Best of luck. I have seen a lot of people with ACL replacements as clients. It will be about a year before you have forgetten about the knee and are back to fulltime activity. But, within 6 months you will be back to normal activity with some trepedation.

sorry about the knee, big bummer!

i've had 2 ACL surgeries. 2nd one was through steadman hawkins and it was top notch! way better than my first surgery. i had a snapped ACL lateral meniscus tear and micro fracture behind the knee cap. this time i had to go with cadaver. first time i went with petela tendon. wish i wouldn't have done that!

anyway i def recommend them.
