Good Windproof Fleece?

Looking for a new light jacket and I like the windproof fleece that is like a softshell or bonded fleece. I like the plain black jackets that North Face and Mountain Hard Wear have but don't want to give them my money. Anyone have any suggestions on jackets similar to these that aren't from crap *** tree hugger companies?

for starters there is no such thing as a windproof fleece. They all let the wind right through

I have owned a ton of fleeces and my favorite has been a North Face Fleece that was windproof. It was great, but lately I have been wearing the the Klim Inversion Jacket, not a fleece but it's a soft shell that is really windproof, I wear it all the time as a layer and on sunny days wear it as my main coat while snowmobiling. It is by far the best mid-weight coat I have owned in a long time, and owned a lot of coats.

I've got a North Face fleece called the "windwall" I think, definitely better then a standard fleece.

The Klim Inversion Jacket, is really nice too, but it's more of a jacket then a fleece.

I guess if you want to keep supporting the companies that despise our sport and contribute to the causes that want to shut us down. They promote the green progressive liberal agenda. If these are the places you want spend your money. Nice choice. Dont bitch when they start pulling acces to PUBLIC lands.

Good call on Cabela's I hadn't thought of them, they have a jacket in the windstopper material I was looking for. I like the bonded fleece that is smooth on the outside as my current fleece jacket isn't wind resistant at all and also it is a magnet for dog hair

I find it hard to believe you research "every" product you buy to ensure the company is not associated with or has beliefs that contradicts your own personal beliefs in any way?

Besides, I got the North Face fleece as a gift, and I was just saying it's nice, that's all, no more, no less. Have a beer and chill out!

I should first clarify, "anti motorized" basically the green, tree hugging hippies and so on.

If you research a lot of companies now a days actually contribute both ways, to keep as many customers as happy as possible. hence not pissing anyone one off and making more sales.

And yes, bottom line, I agree to support, Pro snowmobiling companies and try and avoid the "anti" snowmobile or anti motor sport companies when ever possible. But to tell someone they better "investigate" who they are buying from and don't bitch when snowmobiling gets shut down.......give it a rest, we don't need a lecture.

All I'm saying is don't bitch about me or someone buying from company "A" when your purchase from company "B" may be just as bad for our sport. That's all I'm saying.

We all love this sport and none of us want to see any more restrictions, rules and regulations enforced or imposed but we'll never get anywhere banging on each other over something so minor.

Now that we got that all cleared up...

I wear a Cabelas fleece jacket every day in the winter as my regular knock around/work and home coat.

Just the right thickness and warmth for our wet Washington westside winters and it looks good enough to wear to my work meetings, etc.

I usually get a new one every year for christmas.
