Honda?
If you don't find someone in the SLC area, Kelly Wells at Newgate motorsorts in Ogden/Riverdale is a very good tech.
Newgate has all of the special tools needed for the job and will treat you right.
All there techs are pretty good, but kelly really pays attention to detail.
Talk to Matt in service... He is the manager and will be able to help you out.

What air cleaner are you running?
If it is not stock or a good aftermarket foam filter, throw it in the trash.
K&N and the likes will destroy any engine in the dirt/sand.

the stock 450R has a twin air filter, i use the no-toil cleaner/oil/grease......and thinking i need a filter oil that is better than this stuff

Hatcher.
The stock intakes are titainum, they hate PUMP UNLEADED..!

Your filter oil and element are fine. i do 20-30 honda heads a year.
If you are keeping the bike, go with stainless and new springs. The stainless can be re lapped and recut several times where as the ti's are thow away items.

The Ti's rely on the coating to keep the soft surface from being beaten, once th coating is gone the edges wear to razors..

Happy moto'ing,,Nothing like it never will be...

I love sand...LOL

what? yami bikes come with Ti valves, Hondas come stock with stainless....or atleast the bad valves i took out look stainless and the stainless valves i bought look the same as the old

got the head done today, replaced valves/springs/ect, re shimed, ect ect

bike started on the second kick, sounds like new.....freakin sweet

I had no issues with no toil until I ran out of cleaner:(
No way to clean that crap without THEIR cleaner.

Glad you got it going.

My pa and brother mix 1 gal of 110 leaded in their crf450s to help lubricate the valves.
I just run unleaded and have had no issues but I don't ride as often as they do.
