Going to get my fill on the new motors and the 6.0's. I'll post up what I learned and the highlights.

Whats up with changing the coolant every 45000. How will coolant cause engine failure?
The EGR is water cooled on the new motors. Coolant is constantly entering at 750 degrees and exiting at operating temp. At 75 gallons a minute flow the silicates break down faster and begins to "thicken." At this point the EGR cooling ports will get plugged thus causing the EGR to expand and contract rapidy resulting in a cracked EGR and all of your coolant going out the exhaust.
I did learn more than I can post but in short, unless you use motorcraft filters and change the coolant every 45,000 engine failure will result. Aftermarket product such as oil filter(this holds true on 6.0 as well) are manufactured shorter(1/8") and will cause hard start, dry start, and filter base damage. Fuel filters(aftermarket) such as the lower filter on the 6.0 are manufactured without a air bleed hole so when the housing fills with fuel the air pocket is trapped and only half the filter is used. I know this sounds like a sales pitch but having dealt with these motors it makes sense why we see what we see. Also air in the fuel system(such as air pockets)will cause injector bottoming and premature damage to the injector. Basically we learned how to prevent premature failure of these engines.
