Who has done this and what was involved? ie drop brackets and clutching/ gearing changes..... How did the sled perform after the track swap?:beer;

got 16 wide 2.5 on mine but i bought it of dever never rode it but the dealer and dev said works good!running 18 tooth top with mcx turbo,has the k-mod drop brackets and tunnel bend.track does show signs of rubbing and some bolts ground off in front to take the 16 wide!they say never look back so my 2 cents!

if you are staying stock with no boost I would use the 15 wide and avoid any hassles(I am going to the 15 x 162 camo extreme on my boosted sled I wanted the 15 wide to help in throwing it around I found the 16 wide a little tough to lay over....after 4 back operations....jmho

Ran a 162 X 16 Apex track on my Nytro last year. Worked good. Will be trying a camo extreme 16 wide on my new sled this year, my son had one on his Apex last year and liked it. You will need to trim up some bolts in the bulkhead and change drop brackets (I used Timbersleds last year) Ordered CR brackets this year as I am also changing the tunnel. Gonna run a Mtn Tamer again. I never had any problem pulling stock gearing with boost. I also tried lots of gearing and clutching combos as that is the only way to see what you like. If you are not running boost I would gear it down 1 or 2 teeth on top and buy an adjustable helix(Shockwave) as you will have difficulty pulling your RPM with the stock gearing and helix with the bigger track IMO.

Do you think the Powerclaw might be a better option for a non-boosted application? The reason I ask is because Arctic cat is claiming it takes 10 less hp to turn the track this year. Just a thought.

it is the option I went with...and after seeing the 09's last year head to head to head with teh three different primary mountain tracks...was hands down powerClaw for me, and FreeAgent is KILLER for deals on them!!!
