.. Only wanting to do this Once.. And do it right the first time..!!!

So.. 07 600 CFI 4 to a 660..

Sent out Cyls. to be fitted for the 700 piston, Bored/ Renickled..

Also, Ex. Valves to be cut.. for the 700 Piston to Fit..

Also the head.. to Build a High Compression Head and so it accepts the 700 Piston Squish..

Also... Going to go with this Package..

SLP Full Exhaust....

SLP.. Dash Air Vent.. More Air.. Flow.

V-Force 3 Reeds..

Yes.. all be adding weight and maybe different Clutch springs..

So.. ANY other Parts i am missing to make this "Package" Work like the 660 Should work???

Thanks..

There is supposed to be a trick to get the cylinders back on without machining the case for the bigger pistons.

Larger air horn for the intake.

Mine has the torque stops, SLP powder valves in air box, venting in the shock wells, and clutching to match.

So whats the trick???

Can i ask what clutching you are running??

Ops .. Yes the Air Horn is going on also..

What are you doing for porting? Just boring the cylinders is not going to work very well.

The trick is pushing the cyls towards the intake when installing them.

I didn't see anything about getting the ECU reflashed, is that in the works? Who's kit are you doing?

I just sent out my cylinders, head, exhaust valves, and ECU to Carls for my 2012 RMK 600.

I assume you don't have the cases apart.

When you set the cylinders down on it you push them back towards the intake and hold them there as far as they will go.

Buy the recommended Carl's clutching, it works.

Thanks Guys..

Well yes the Cases are still in the sled...

Engine only has 1300 miles on it.. So Pretty fresh.. still..

Porting... Yes i wanted to do it.. But got told i would have to send in the Cases and crank.. to do it right..

Millennium Technologies is doing the Boring and Re nickled

IDK if i should or not.. What do you think???

The Re-flash.. Talked to a couple guy on that before.. i was told didn't need any more fuel.. But i could be wrong.. I could add a PC-V and a auto tune..

Is Carls Re flashing the older CFI-4 ECM's??

Also thinking for clutching ending up at Primary.. Blue/Pink slp spring and 66 Weights..

subscribed!

I'm picking up a 2007 rmk 144 600 h.o. this weekend... looking into engine mods as well..

Millennium Tech is right down the road from me... going to have them do the work... just not sure what I want them to do for me yet.....

any links to help find some good info would be good.

Is Carls Re flashing the older CFI-4 ECM's??

From what I have experienced via Carls setup on my '07 RMK 600:
685cc requires case machining
660cc does not require case maching

ECU = not sure on the CFI-4's but on the new 2 injector setup, YES! They haven't updated their site for the 660 CFI kits, still lists the carb'ed upgraded kits. The auto tune may be the way to go and quite honestly, I might get one as well. I'm going to start with an AFR gauge to see how lean/rich it is and go from there. Carls hasn't tested the new CFI-2 660's at low elevation, only the 5-8k elevation. I would call up a few places that offer big bore kits for the CFI-4's and see what they have to say about fuel mappings.

Like you said, you only want to do it once. Now is a great time to call the vendors and get things lined up before the snow flies.

Post up some pics when you get the project rolling.

Thanks

Jonce..

Yea.. only doing the 660.. kit.. do I really didn't want to mess with the bottom end at all.. Still thinking Mill. Tech.. Should know what there doing .. been around for a few years.. And not too bad on price.!

I also Port matched the Y=pipe .. Cleaned up a bad mating job for factory.. Also.. hoping the V-Force reeds help the snap!

Doing the Snow Dance!!!

ECU.. Still looking in to it..

Rolsol83..

Nice! he he.. well it started as just a 600.. with a SLP pipe .. and air intake and clutchin. Works Great.. But.. I bought a Pro 800.. Loving it.. Love the 600 Nimbleness.. Just looking for a little more Power and snap!..

Heard Very many Good things about the 660 kits.. so.. why not..

If u read my old posts.. u can follow a trend..

Yes.. Pics are on the way! :)

Well I'm just going through to see what I need outside of cyl, and pistons. How much its going to change the sled... Will it affect, clutching, gearing, jetting. I've never OB'd something on a sled.

Any idea what kind of performance gain one would see? Is it worth it?

This sled is really just going to hold me over till I can afford a used 2012 144" 800

Well... I said this before i'll say it again..

Doing it right!!

Sending the whole engine in now.. for a FULL PORT Work!!!

Figured better do it right the first time GRR..

O well i want to be happy with it not crabby later!

i want the Full 660 Performance

so found out that its not as cheap or easy to make this sled a 660 as I thought... so... pretty sure I'm not going to dick with it.. 2g for 12 hp... not thinking its worth it... might as well just turbo it then...

Can you break out the costs for us?

I penciled it out on the Edge and IQ chassis and figured it would be about $2500 to do it all.

:)

Well it been brought up about the price.. for a 660 kit..

HMM this is a hard one..

Some.. will Say.. All you need is to make the Piston fit Jug.. and Cut the Head and the Exh. Valves.. Only 800$$

Well.... i was one that thought that.. for a while.. till i dug in to it... So here's my break down!!

So I'll Break it Down..

Custom Head 12.5 : 1 $400
Re Size Cyl. 230 x2 $460
Porting $600
Pistons $400
Gaskets $100
Slp Pipe $650
V-force 3 reeds $250
Freight $150

Total $ 3010.00 "Yes Rough Numbers.."

The Look on My Buddies Face When a 600 Sled passes a 800 on the Hill!!! PRICELESS

It all about Fun, Learning, Knowing it is Going to RIP!!

Yes....the fact that this motor isn't going to Carls for their 660 kit.

Indeed, the carls 660 i had was the best sled engine i ever had, It was a carbed model and i hated changing jets all the time thats the only reason i got rid of it. At 1500' i ran 440 jets so it will def need more fuel than a stock 600 :face-icon-small-hap

I've got a Carl's 685, and it trully is the best sled I have ever had. The 600 cranks are bullet proof so it is a great engine to mod. If you do this kit right, you will love it.
