Going from 2" 2.52 pitch to a 2.4" 2.86 pitch

you should get under there and measure it cause i'm pretty sure the 2.4 will not fit no matter what drivers you go with unless you drop and roll the case.
Remember ya need at least 1/4 inch clearance everywhere or you will have a lot of drag from snow packing through there. And real small drivers suck as well, just 2 much of a bend in there. good luck !:D

I'm looking to do the same on my 05 rmk and it looks like i have to remove the front cooler or a drop and roll. I also bought ice age cut rails for extrovert drivers. I think Ill do the drop and roll. Who has a good drop and roll kit still available for the 05 edge rmk?

Nope, I have not seen any. Problem is the smaller the driver 2 things happen. One is you lose track speed as it is harder for the track to make the smaller turn around the driver, and two, you make your approach angle worse as your tucking the front of the track upwards tward the drivers. So the big question is will the sled work better with less track speed, more snow drag, a bad approach angle and the 1/4 inch bigger paddle, OR will it work better with the stock stuff and the smaller paddle ??? IMHO put a longer track on it that fits or hang on to the wallet and do it all, avid chaincase, 2.5 or 3" camo ext in a 162 or 174.
Unfortunally there is really no way to put a big paddle track on a edge without quite a bit of modification...:face-icon-small-coo

pretty sure fabcraft has one for 625.00 as well, or the cmx belt drive $$$$$$$$

Fastrax quoted me 650.00 for the extended case, chain and templates. fabcrafts is 625.00 using the stock case and drop and roll templates to relocate the drive shaft. I think I'm going to go with the fastrax drop and roll less templates less cutting, drilling and patching of the tunnel and bulk head. It just looks like a better system.

your correct it is a nicer deal for sure, id go with fasttrax as well :D

i did this last year. i have a 2003 800 rmk and i wanted to go from a 151x2 to 155x2.5. so i bought the fabcraft chaincase roll kit and some 8 tooth wahl bros drivers 2.86 pitch. before i bought the kit i told fabcraft what i was doing and they thought it would work but no guarantees. the track didn't clear the front radiator. so i had to modify it my self. i took a hammer, grinder and sawsall to their radiator and shifted a little to make it work. but i only have about 1/8 inch clearance and have been thinking of bying the 7 tooth drivers to get more clearance. it droped my top speed on the trail form 80mph to about 60 mph. big difference. in some snow conditions it made a big improvement but in others it seams to slow me down.

Top speed went from 80 to 60, pretty drastic. Would that in part be from going to 8 tooth drivers and not compensating for the final drive ratio reduction by regearing? I would imagine some of that loss of speed would be associated with low paddle clearance, but if its on the trail I would expect that to be minimal (more significant in the fun stuff).

To remove the front cooler for more clearance, would you just run a bypass hose and get a larger rear cooler?

If you put a longer track and smaller drivers on a sled thats 151 stock, its like putting 20/38 gears on it. What you need to do for a 155" is put 7 tooth 2.86" Drivers and gearing at 19/42, itd even out to about 19/40. To about stock Edge. I ran into the same problem with my old Gen2, I put a 153" Challenger track with 7 tooth 3.00" pitch on it, stock it was 136 with 19/39 gearing. Anyways, I saw a loss from 80MPH to 55MPH, and was worst in powder do to slower track speed. Went home and put some 19/42s in and it was way better. Thats my experience. The 2.4" wont fit the Edge tunnel, my friend did it to his this season, we trimmed 1/4" off every lug. So after that it was a 2 1/3" track, then we decided to put some 7 tooth anti-ratchets in.

They do too fit, man there are so many posts on this. I have run a 2.25 camo for a few years and now run a 2.5 camo in my 04 Edge going on 3 seasons. There is plenty of room if you move the suspension back 1 inch, cut your rails back 1 inch and run AVID 7t drivers. A drop and roll will give you more clearance or the AVID chaincase does allow you to run 8t and more room, but for a budget and something that works great you can move it back and trim. I run 20-42 gears because there is less bend in the chain then 19-43 and with smaller drivers it works out gear ratio wise. I have this same setup in my wife's 02' 700 with zero issues.

155 track

Did the same to mine, 7 T and a 155 track, have 1/4 inch clearance. Moved the skid back 1.25 in and down 3/4 with a 9 in big wheel kit and it works fine!

151" to 162"

I just bought an 04 800 with a 151" I have a 162" Powerclaw that I want to put on. Can this work? Do I need longer rails/extensions? Can I make up for the longer track with larger diameter, rear wheels? Any advice is welcome!!! Thanks
