Goggle Storage Tips ??

After switching to an MX style helmet this year, and with my kid having used one for a couple of seasons I am getting a pretty good collection of spare lens'. Looking for good idea to store at home and or on the trail...wwracer

I don't like changing lenses so I bought more goggles. What's mentioned above would work for lenses. In my case I keep the bags and am mounting a set of Quick strap mounts under my hood to keep one set thawed out and warm or be able to do so if I get some iced up real bad while stuck.

I've found that a Crown Royal bag is the perfect size for storing a pair of goggles. It's nice and soft and I seem to always have a few on hand.

Edit: I guess someone beat me to the punch

The quick straps under the hood is a great idea, i alwasy pack an extra pair all set up with quick strap in a padded goggle bag but never thought about thawing under the hood.

thanks for the idea

That idea is the best(why didn't I think of that) tip of the year!!:beer;:beer;:D:wine:

WPS makes a cool bag that will stick on under your hood, it has a mesh top and you can fit a couple pair of goggles in it to dry out on the deep days

Here's the one Dunatic mentioned (page 189 of Snowmobile catalog):

Heres what it looks like under a Dragon. They work great. EW

Yeah, I have a buddy who's Polaris has that. I didn't like the bag and I'm always setting my goggles on top of the spark plugs when we rest so I figured why not just keep a pair under thair and trade off when necessary.

Downside to all this, is that you'll end up replacing the peg mount on your helmet more often if you're swapping a fair bit. I pulled the original off that was stuck very good and the problem is I have replaced two while out riding and it's hard to get them as clean as you should.

Definitely get a hard case to store goggles and lenses when you're not using them. Lenses get scratched more often when you're not using them. Throwing a set of chrome lenses in a gear bag with your helmet and other gear is rough on the lens.

Get a hard case for storing in your gear bag and throw a backup set of gogs in the case and snap it to your back pack while riding.

How did you mount that bag....looks like an awesome idea

It comes with the 3M sticky back plastic bases that have slots in them for a zip tie to pass through. Just prep the site with some paint thinner and stick 'em on. Zip tie the 4 corner straps of the bag to the bases and your set. EW

Toms case looks awesome, I'll be getting a couple for my boys who could scratch a brick in 1 ride.

I also keep a spare pair of goggles and a spare pair of gloves under the hood in a mesh WPS bag.
I keep the goggles inside a Crown Royal bag to keep them from getting scratched.
The bag mounts nicely on the aluminum plate that sits under and forward of the headlight on a REV. It just lays on top of the spare belt.
Keeps everything warm and dry.
Rotate the gloves with the ones you're wearing and it helps dry the wet ones out.
The wife's SDI REV uses that plate for electronics so I'm not sure where to mount hers.

Do the goggles completely dry out being stored above the exhaust??I wonder if that would be too much weight for a lexan hood??
