Goggle and Mask combo

So I was watching a program about the Irondog race in Alaska and almost all the teams wore what looked like a combination goggle and hardshell facemask with an open face helmet. I prefer a open face and thought this setup looked pretty nice. Anybody know who sells these? Thanks

For the most part the helmets are Shoei RJ Platinium models, although other brands are used. The masks are either from Scott or Smith. Either mask snaps into goggles of the same brand. The helmets are readily available. You may have to look for the masks a bit, try the Smith website, I was told Smith is making them again, the Scott mask is out of production. You will have to do some minor trimming to the helmet liner to get the mask to fit. This helmet/goggle/mask combo allows for activities (eating, drinking, working, etc) while keeping the helmet on, which is paramount.

Why do you prefer the open face helmet?

I ride with a couple guys that use that style helmet and a full drop down clear shield. It works most of the time, but on cold powder days the light snow blows up under and sticks to the inside of the shield.

I used to use a bubble helmet in my youth and any huffing and puffing it fogged the whole visor up. Yet, if you rode with the visor up you got a face full of snow and couldn't see. With the open face I can cruise through powder and there is enough air movement my goggles never fog, yet snow never comes in contact with my eyes.

It is a bit lighter, on warm days I flip the shield up. I wear glasses so it helps to be able to take them off and clean them. I wear one of the no fog masks and have no problems. I don't have any powder issues, normally that is. I have worn one for over 30 years on bikes and sleds. Habit as well.
