GO-PRO HERO setup/tech input...

So, borrowed a helmet cam for the first time this weekend. Im thinking the HERO is one of the early versions?, how much better to go with the newer HI-DEF ones? (is that the difference with the HERO?) I posted this little video, the issues: even with the instruction "pamphlet", could not find the volume adjustment? Seems kinda dark, the newer ones correct that? And you'll see it starts blinking "black", anyone know what that is? Any help here is appreciated. I want to buy one... but didnt want to buy one before trying one out. Anyone still use the HERO? (and like it?)

I have one also , got it 2 years ago , got to use it this year and looks the same as yours ,i do not know if i am doing something wrong also .!!!!

Welcome to gopro cameras....at least the earlier models. Not sure if the problem has been corrected in the newer generation.

It is the light sensor cycling and causing the blip, I believe. Although I have never seen it as dramatic as going completely black. Usually just shows as a flash as it adjusts to different lighting. Which is constant while snowmobiling.

Now I have the experience of using one behind me... I can ask more specific questions... TUDIZZLE, have you used both the PRO and CONTOUR? Still really havent seen anyone post a difference between the two.

this video is mostly gopro hd
their is some shots with a canon hand held,
but most of it is gopro hd
i have a ton of film with it from the last 2 years, i've never seen that black blip on any of my footage you are getting on your recordings....

I have a Hero960, and have never had those problems like you do. My video quality is better than that as weel, but that could be the quality the camera is set at. (You can change the quality it stores at to fit more on a card.)

I wil have to read the instructions again , did not see that !!

Try the LIC goggles, if you can. I have tryed a couple diffrent helment cams. The POV 1.5, and the contour. But never the GoPro, But I have found that the LIC Goggles are much easyer to use, down load and prepair for vid. You can watch your footage right from the goggles in a matter of about one minute.
