Go pro helmet cam questions

http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=2

just got this for my birthday, well actually i found out i am getting it for my birthday but its not for another month. just wondering if anybody has this camera.

how do you mount it? i see that there are brackets with 3M adhesive that you can stick on your helmet. they also have helmet straps, chest mounts, and handlebar mounts. just wondering what people are using.

also, i see that they like their batteries. so, i think i may purchase stock in energizer. is there a certain battery that lasts longer than others in these cameras? rechargables?

does anybody have any video of there camera in action on a sled?

we used them all of last season and they work great. they do eat the batteries i never found one to last any longer than the other and the rechargeable's didnt last at all. i just buy them in bulk and carry 10-16 batteries with me every day just in case. we use the 3m mounts have one on my helmet and 2 on my sled. here's a few vids from last year

A buddy of mine just got the same cam. We havent been able to try it yet though. It came with lots of different mounting hardware.

those are good vids. is that a high definition or standard definition? i was hoping to use rechargables, but if they don't last then F it. what about the SD card? did you try a 4GB?

i was going to order some different mounts, but now that you mention it, i think i will wait and see which ones it comes with.

i love the cam and found that lipo batteries last way longer, in fact i made about 40 video's with mine all being 4-20 minuts long and i only went threw 3 set's so far this season

My buddy mounted his under his visor....drilled holes and used washers and the mount it came with and ordered a second one(put one on his girlfriends helmet too) that way its outta the way and semi protected..Works great in that location

wow, that's a good vid there, thanks for sharing, I also just purchased one and hope to get lots of video this year. I might have to put a mount on my sled also, I thought I was just going to use my helmet mount but it looks pretty good on the hood too.

We bought the Go-Pro this summer and used it in the sand quite a bit, it's great! We buy batteries in bulk, seems to be the best option! Took it out in the snow last week, and takes great film in the snow as well. We have the mounts on the top of our helmets, and brackets on the ATV's, we used the suction cup on the sled last week and worked nicely!

pausing video??

The last video, the one edited with Premier, seemed to hesitate every couple of seconds. Any idea what causes this? Looks like a great helmet cam, though. I must get one! Is that the HD version or the Standard version?

Meathooker, I just watched yours and noticed that it seemed to hesitate, too. Ideas?

what the heck is a lipo battery?

I think he means lithium batteries. For winter use, these are the only way to go. I will use a set of 2 for one day and end up with 45 minutes or so of footage.

If you were to try regualr batteries, i doubt if you could get a 5 minute clip out of them. The lithium batteries are expensive. I ended up buying 50 of them on ebay for my winter use this year. They are $20 for 4 of in Revy at the radio Shack. Only palce in town that I could get them.

I paid 50$ for 50 of them on Ebay so a big difference.

i got a couple video's here also if u want to take a look at them, whne uploading them it takes all the quality away but when copied to a disk they are fine.make sure to watch in hd. all of them are from the gopro except the long bike and dirtbike wheelie ones, there on a cell phonehttp://www.youtube.com/user/slednecksrock

uploading them to the internet causes that, directly off the car it doesnt have that, and that was created through a deal on photobuckets website which actually probably made it worse. meat hooker if you set the sound setting to low, it takes away all the wind noise reguardless of how fast you go, we had it on a diesel truck doing 90mph and still will eliminate the wind noise

Kinzer, Your vids are sick, got some good pulls!

I just got my Go Pro Hero HD and it is sweet, the footage loks so nice. Gonna mess around with it this weekend, we'll see if I can get some Thanksgiving Bambi Hunting clips.:D
