GMUG Roadless Meetings -- Reports?

Any one attend the GMUG meeting in Montrose on Wednesday, June 8? I hope we had some in attendance, sorry I couldn't go!

Also, check out the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel Bill Grant column-- decrying the bill to remove from listing certain roadless areas, including the inventoried areas determined not to be eligible for wilderness/special protection... BS at its finest! That land should be released to general management and multiple use. Some of the inventoried as "not suitable" determinations were made by 1980!

some info here about one of the other meetings, I would be interested in details from the June 15th one because it covered Gunnison also.

I talked to the forest service in Gunnison last year about property I own.
They plan to eventually gate the trail that leads to my property.
I will have access but will probably have to pay a yearly fee to the FS.
Actually you are suppose to pay the fee now if you own land that you have
to drive across FS land to get to, but hardly anyone does it.
Closing roads may be a way to force owners into paying this yearly fee.
