Getting the Shaft

What Driver Shafts will fit my 2006. I know my 2005 is diffrent than the 2006 I believe its the length can't remember exactly.

I know the Dragon's have that little center driver but I believe they are all the "Special 2.86".

Anyway I need a stock Shaft and drivers for my 2006 900.

Will the Dragon Shaft fit up to like 2009 if I replace the drivers ?

its boxed up and ready to be malied out Lee..

but to answer your questions,

the 06-10 i believe use ths same drive shaft, you would just need to press on the 2.52 pitch drivers for the 900 track. i would reccommend using AVID anti-rachet drivers if you find some for cheap or save up for them ($120 each i believe) they are a huge improovement and will not rachet when the track eventually stretches or if its ran loose.

Are there different length mainshafts available for polaris sleds? For example is the wedge/gen2 shorter or longer than an edge? or an '05 IQ?

every chassis has its own driveshaft, the 05 and 06 even thou they are the similar sled, use a different shaft..which look very simlilar but the 06 (thru 10) is shorther.

as for a different model shaft working in another year...

the 05 steel driveshaft is a DIRECT bolt-in to the 11-13 pro rmk models...they have an aluminum shaft that is glued to the steel ends on the PRO driveshaft and they break...so alot of guys are installing 05 900 steel driveshafts in their PROS and using the 3" pitch AVID drivers. ;)

and the edge chassis driveshaft has been modified in the 05 chassis when they do drop and roll conversions...you just have to use a lathe and cut down the speedo side of the shaft till its the right length and press on the EDGE/IQR hex style drivers.

but IMO its not for the daily rider to mod. just stick with OEM

I picked up a mod gen2 awhile ago and have just started working on it recently. It has an edge chaincase in it for track clearance but you have to shim the chaincase off the bulkhead about 1/2" for clearance for the brake rotor and you end up with a main shaft thats a little shorter than I like. I'm guessing the mainshaft is the stocker from the gen2 and I was just curious if there was a longer one out there, maybe edge? How long is the '05 900 shaft? Maybe thats what I need. Thanks for the help.
