Getting items removed from credit score how to?

Like title says. I have a Lake Viking association that I quit paying dues on associated with some land I owned years back. Well the other day I let it goto tax sale because i was sick of being attacked with dues and couldnt reach an agreement with the association.

Tax sale was scheduled a few weeks back on a Monday and Saturday night a buyer calls me and says he will take all liability with the land if I deed it to him before the tax sale. I agreed and now have a registered deed that states such and a transfer of liability of all costs signed. So how do I get this off my credit report? Is it the credit agencies job to get it off there with the supporting evidence or is it the creditor? or the collection agency that reported it?

I have started by mailing the creditor and the collection agency the documentation. Do i need to do more? Whos to say they wont just throw it away and say phugg him"..

*Edit, title was suppose to be credit report not score.

Don't rely on the creditor, I'd make sure to contact all 3 credit bureaus with your dispute and proof. They should attach notes to the actual report showing that you are disputing it, and then finally removed.

^^^X2^^^ the burden of proof will end up being your responisibility, even though the only control you have over the situation is contacting the credit agencies and disputing the the claim.

The key is to write all 3 bureaus and do not just dispute it but state that the information is inaccurate and injurious to your credit record, and demand that it be investigated and removed. If you do not specifically ask for it to be removed it could end up still on your report with a note stating that the item is disputed.
