getin rid of rust on slp pipe/can?

1. You can polish your ceramic with 000 steel wool and simichrome or aluminum type polish to a chrome type finish look.

2. Spray with silicone to prevent rust.

3. If you have surface rusting you can re- polish. It's normal for some rusting because of acid rain, soils etc. Re-polishing will bring back it's luster.

4. Slight rust by name tags, springs & hooks or tight bends is normal & can be removed with a soft brass wire brush or a toothbrush & silicone spray. Silicone spray you can get at Lowe's, Walmart, Auto parts.

Don't use sand paper or steel wire brush!

Scotch brite or 000 steel wool with alot od soap and water or if you don't you will break into the ceramic coating.

I have the same issue.......so, does the silicone spray you mention harden like paint or is it more of a coating you will have to keep applying?

spray after rides to preserve, I found that works best. (cold and clean of course) for summer storage put a thick coat on, I assume that the rust has came from putting away wet for the season or "hot/cold" garage visits. Usually stuff don't rust in 1 winter, happens after neglect in summer months while it warm out.
