Well guys, Yamaha gave up. Cat is gonna use Yamaha engines. Go buy another Pro or two while they're still relatively cheap. And get ready for the masses to begin migrating to this side of the forums.

why would they all start coming here? Cat just scored yamaha 4stroke engines and I'm betting their chassis is a better platform than the nytro. not to mention the 2 stroke technology they also gained.

Only sleds I have are cats for the big kids, yamahas for the kiddies, very happy with both.

The only thing polaris has that I want is a primary that lasts more than two years.

Too bad it's the only thing left by then.

--If Polaris can't/won't get the cfi to run strong and reliably, why would they install a turbo on it. Would you actually expect them to offer a no compromise package? Your better off spending your money on aftermarket and getting what you pay for.

--Supposedly, emissions are tying their hands(whatever), how is offering a turbo going to help that. They would have to downgrade the fleet even further to make up for the relatively few turbos.

yuuup, mmm hmmm, whatever.

I've seen this discussed several times before. Like myself and any other rider who has spent any significant time on the pro, there is no going back. Let these companies bring whatever they may and let them get dominated. Until they build and bring something that rips...... let the motors ba-bang and the warranty claims fly! :target:

The cat/yammi teamup on the Viper has no relevance to mountain sleds, other than yammi giving up on the mountain segment. AC could license the yammi DI tech, which they need. Word is yammi is blowing out the Nytro mountain with big rebates to dealers - the yammi dealers in the west will be the ones who get hosed. The flatland dealers are gonna sell alotta Vipers. AC will NEVER give up on sleds.

I think the Nytro motor in a ProCross chassis is all about taking on Doo in the trail market, and it's biggest sub-segment - 600 class trail twisters. Doo has over 50% share of that sub-segment - you rob banks because that's where the money is. Yammi hasn't been serious about the mountain segment for years, just maintaining it. Great time to buy a Nytro cheap if you ever wanted one.
