Georgia Pass or Cottonwood Pass on 1/17

Has anyone ridden Georgia Pass or Cottonwood Pass in the last week? I am riding this weekend and am hoping for conditions report. I ride from the Jefferson side...how's the road? I'll have my son's rookie girlfriend with me and I don't want to put the fear of God in her on her virgin ride:D

Cottonwood is packed, trails in good shape. Getting to Denny Creek from Avalanche is bare. But for a first ride, Cottonwood might be nice.

I'll be up on Georgia this weekend with a virgin too...:D........rider that is. His first sled.

I would imagine the trail is fine for newbies up until the last switchback before going over the pass. I haven't been up there yet this year so I don't know if it's off-camber windlblown or not....

:o

how far up is the pass bare from the avy parking lot? I gotta get the wife out this weekend or she is going to kill me... was hoping to get a quick ride around bv.

Man I haven't rode (with) a virgin in some time. It sure is fun to hear them scream but afterwards its impossible to get them to stop buggin you to do it again. :P

Speaking of grooming, what ever happened to the reports on coloradosledcity.com. The groomer from Good Times up near Breckenridge hasn't reported in years. Don't they get paid some for grooming or is that all on their own? I miss the old reports.

groomer report says they moved parking to denny creek this week.

Good, we were talkin about that. They had to. Denny creek on up was in good shape last week. With the weather forecast this weekend, bring the camera and a picnic lunch. 50 in BV. I dont think that mosquito spray will be needed. Suntan lotion would be good.

going to pack the skeeter spray just in case...

what about st. elmo? Never ridden out of there, which makes it more appealing now...

talked to one of the groomers yesterday and he stated that St Elmo is in good shape. I have not been up there this year, but I would imagine the trails are in good shape, not sure about off trail.....

We rode Georgia yesterday from the Breck side. Good Times had the trails really good. The snow on top of Georgia was thin but OK on the south side towards Jefferson. Lots of sugar.

went last sunday and was not impressed for georgia . Need alot more snow

Man do they ever. Not to mention a parking lot about 400 times the size of the existing one. Yuck, yesterday it was 100-yds of dirt riding to get to the snow, but most of that was due to the 400 rigs and trailers lining the road.

We bailed and went tried Como/Boreas, Browns Pass.....with no luck. That F'n wind is just strip'n all our snow.

NEED MORE SNOW IN PARK COUNTY....PRONTO.
