Interesting, did a quick search in this forum, no results.

Anybody have any experience with them? Didn't know about them, wouldn't mind giving the local dealer a little more business if they were something worthy of sticking in a guys sled trailer. I'm hoping to get rid of my toy hauler and set up a sled trailer so a guy could camp in it one or two times a summer at most. A quiet little Polaris generator would be convenient since I have a dealer I get other small-engine things from close by.

Crap, idk what happened with the link (darn iPad). The Polaris generators seem awfully portable and the comparable generator to what you're talking about is priced at a grand.

Looks like the P2000i is around a grand as well.

I'd stay away from a Polaris generator...its just a rebranded Chinese generator that you can cheaper elsewhere.

I own 3 generators, a 800 watt 2 stroke as a backup to my other two generators that I use when I boondock camp with our travel trailer.

$529 shipped for an inveter generator that easily produces 2,000 watts at my altitude and 2,500 watts at sea level.(don't believe the 3,000 watt claim) Have owned one for 6 years and it has been 100% reliable, starts easy, is quiet, and fairly light.
http://eastcoastwholesales.com/products/products/view/7/5.html It would even run the a/c in my travel trailer but little else. We use it only when we know we won't need a/c when we camp. If run at high altitudes, you must solder the main jet and redrill it with a smaller size to lean out carb or it will run too rich....easy to do and no need to mess with sourcing jets. It will run VERY rich at altitude. Vendor has a bad reputation because of how rich the generators run at altitude but that's not his fault...he should sell a high altitude jet but he doesn't...no problem.

For about $1,000 you can get Bolily 3,000 watt inverter generator. Have had mine for 4 years and run it about 8 hours a day when we camp. It has been 100% reliable except for clogged spark arrest exhaust screen that I ripped off, comes with many options and although I have electric start, it doesn't need it. It is a clone of a Yamaha generator but is much lighter due to fact it has no flywheel. Very quiet and almost Honda quality at 1/2 the price! http://bottomlinetrading.com/BOLIY.html

I have a cheap 2 stroke $89 generator from Harbor Freight. I use it as a backup when I camp to charge trailer batteries if my main generator fails (never has happened yet). I also use it to occasionally plug my diesel block heaters when I'm sledding in the cold so I don't have to worry about getting stuck. I also use it to charge my camper batteries in the winter so they don't self-discharge/die in storage. Cheap and great for its intended purpose.
