I run a M1000 at 9./11000 ft. It has some mods, running stock gears. To pull harder climbing and boondocking, does anyone have a idea what gears to change to. M1000,2007 Thank Frank Also I put a power claw 162 track on it, with a 2008 supension.

Gears

I run BDX 56/64 gears in my 07 M1000. I really like the way it pulls and feels now.

I run 54/66 gears. climbs nice but i find a little too low. easy on belts and gets there quick. the 56/64 would be my next choice.

I run 55/65. easy on belts, clutches cooler, works good for me.

Both of those seem low, I just put 53/67 in my M8 and love it at 10,000 feet but its a M8. Seems like a while back people were running 57/63 and loveing it. 56/64 or 55/65 might be perfect too. I wouldn't go much more than 3 lower than stock.
