Gear's.

I don't know a whole lot about this so here it goes. I have a 06 Crossfire 700. I only go out west 2 times ( that suck's ) a year and love it. Anyway's, when I am out there the sled is really doggy off the start. Seem's like I am riding a 400 fan cooled rather then my 700. I know this is because of the alt. change. Once the sled get's rolling it rip's just fine. Would I be able to run stock M7 gear's and see a difference. I would also like to possibly leave them in for around home which is northern WI. If I am right the m gear's will give me more lower end torque. I do some 660' drag racing and think that would give some good pull off the line. Any info. would be great. And are they a pain to change out?

I have a set of stock M7 gears that I would sell for $100. Changing them out is very easy. Just remove Diamond drive split case and change out. Would recommend Buying a bearing kit from BDX. That way you could change back very easy. I went with 54/66 for the off the bottom torque. Not alot of topend but pulls very hard.
Would also see what helix you are running.

I am running the stock helix for now, but will consider different setup's if they will work for my application. Just want some pointer's for now.

Thank's

gears or clutch

I put the cat recommended setup of the 36 degree helix in mine and got by good in 8000-9000 ft. I then went back to 5000-6000 feet and love the setup at that elevation. I do not like it at 1500 elevation however. The helix change is easy.
