Gearing?

Pierre's geared mine down to a 19 tooth, Like it so far but never rode it stock...

First ride this weekend with 19/43. I like it. Did loose some top end trail speed, but who likes trails anyways. Still plenty fast. Pulls hard and holds rpm's really well.

Why? Is your clutching right? I can tell you if you havent changed out the stock weights for lighter ones, it will never run close to where its supposed to in utah. I rarely saw over 7800 climbing with the stock 62's.

I geared mine down and it feels stronger on a pull then before, also the belt runs cooler. Still running stock clutching. It runs at 8100 RPM's on a good pull.:face-icon-small-hap

19/43 with stock chain, works great it the powder and climbing. Cooler clutches and consistant rpm, slower on the trail but who cares.

I've got 20/45 gearing, 74P chain, P.A. head and HPS can. Just did the gearing two rides ago and also went from the stock 140/330 primary spring to a 120/310. Sled was pulling 8200 rpm and track speed was up 2+ mph. Conditions were settled powder, though. I'll wait on any other changes until I get it in some deep pow again. I still would like to try 19/46 gearing though. I tried to install 20/46 and it's not a good combo. 74P chain is too tight to install, and 76P chain is too long. Too much of a dog-leg in the chain.
