I am going out west next week and I am wondering if I should re gear the yamadoo before we go out. Currently I have it geared to 22/43 with 7 tooth 3.0 pitch. Also running a 162 powerclaw.

Wondering if it needs to be geared back down again for the steep and deep?

I am leaving the 12th going to Ryan Park
runnning 09 NA Nytro
18/40 gears @ 2.22
162 x 16 x 2.5 new ce
I think most guys with turbos are running @ 2.00

I am geared to 1.95. So it is a little high. i ran a 2.26 the first trip out and I think that was a little low. I also blew up a chain at that. I think that the smaller top gear was to small and giving the chain a chance to slip.

A 21/43 may be best for me I will have to check and see if I have a 21. . . . .

I run 18/42 without problems. Thats what I ran n/a, I just left those in there hoping to keeping some bottom end for tree riding, has worked really well. As I progress to pulling more big stuff & less tree I may gear up some.
