gearing question

i have an 03 edge 800, with a 156 track, and 8-tooth 2.52 drivers, i like to do allot of hillclimbing.. anyone have any gearing suggestions?

Are you sure they are 8tooth....they came with 9 tooth I believe.

I run 18/43 in my 995 turning 8400 rpms.

I just put 7tooth 3.0 drivers under mine which are 1/2" smaller dia than the stock 9 tooth 2.52's. I was running 19/43 for gearing before the driver change and loved it. After the driver change it was too low for me. Max speed was maybe 70 on the speedo. Great bottomend, but started to fall flat about 60. I changed my gearing back to 19/39 and am happy with it once again. I am not sure how much smaller the 8's are than the 9's, but you should be pretty close to my 7toooth 3.0's. Hope this helps you.
