I have been gearing my sleds down for years to save my belt life. I only ride in the tree's as avy danger is less and have had my share of slide ride's. My old M7 was geared at 53/67 and loved the reduced belt heat and grunt of that gearing. I try to get a 1-1 ratio at 40 mph track speed (most contact of belt to clutches) as to reduce heat and slippage. This was great for my NA sled. Now the Question I have is what is the REAL track speed of a Pump Gas turbo on a M-8 as I wish to gear 1-1 for this sled??? According to my service Manual if I gear to 54/66 my Max speed at 8200 rpm will be 85 but I wonder if I gear down will that increase lag or will it have any effect on it???? I will be opening up my DD to install the Bigger Bearing into the Planetary and At 200 buck a pop only want to by one set of gears. Any suggestions??? Thanks Garry
