Gearing-Clutching=Trackspeed

Have a 2012 163 Pro since new
Played around for the last couple years with different clutch set ups on 100% stock machine. Carls setup was about the best for quick backshift and holding consistent RPM. 36-38 mph is about the best I could get for track speeds.
Shot connecting rod thru crankcase last spring....New shortblock under warranty. Decided to throw a "fix" into the brand new shortblock.
Went with RKT kit with 13.1 head to run straight premium fuel. Kelsey convinced me to try the Rooster weights as well. Also changed up gearing from stock 20-42 to 19-46 thinking I might gain a bit more trackspeed.....
Sled is running great, RKT kit is the real deal. Got the rooster weights loaded up in the heel with a bit in the mid and nothing in the tip.
RPM's are consistent at 8200, Kelsey recommends this setup to run 8300-8400 I'm just a little skeptical spinning this motor any faster....
Track speed hasn't changed from stock setup although she's a torquey SOB now!
What am I missing? Gearing have anything to do with Track speeds?
Should I lighten up weights for more RPM?

You really need to run at 8400 to see the best results with the dropin kit. 8200 with the kit , i find anyways is about the same as stock, but 8400 wakes it up considerably more. I was getting around 45 to 46 mph track speed with the kit before i turbo it. My results anyways at 7000 ft and the 13.1 domes. Also had the stock 155 track at the time.

Look at your helix. Depending on elevation, try going with a steeper final angle like a 42 or 44 with your lower gearing. This will allow you to shift out farther giving you more track speed.

I would gear back up a bit, I always felt the P-85/team combo liked a 2.15-2.25 ratio with a big track. I would also experiment with some tip weight, that is where you can get it pulling as long as you have a secondary setup that can balance it out.
