Gearing calculator

OK someone clear this up..Everyone I talk to tells me different.

08 XP. Does the TRA have an "overdrive" like the Poo's or no? warranty gearing 19/45. in the Poo world this would be crazy low gearing. With this gearing and bigger drivers on the XP what would the mph be at 1:1. How far up is 1:1 on the TRA??

Trying to decide was gearing to go to.

I heard older DOOs have overdrive thats why they run lower gearing than other brands. On the other hand I heard the XPs do not. Measure the primary dia. on a REV and on the XP and see. 04 REV 159 runs 19:43=2.26 My 08 XP 154 runs 20:45=2.25 The diff between 8t 2.86 and 9t 2.52 is 0.20 inches in dia. Only subtle diff between the two in track length and gearing. ???????????

Gearing vs Performance

You all give out info and idea's but are not specific. A 151 800 VS a 159 800 or 700 for that matter and hill climbing vs trail rats are all differant set-ups.
At least the AC and Pol guys work together, we need to also.

???

The reason for my comment was this. Stock clutching on the 08 XP 154 had two issues imo. the primary quit shifting after a certain point plus the belt slipped in the secondary. That was causing a big majority of the belt heat. As everyone knows the higher you get in the secondary you are more likely to slip in the secondary.

So enter lower gearing, you hit the primary shift wall sooner and the belt rides higher in the secondary (lower gearing) causing it to even slip more. When my XP had stock clutching (bone stock) it went from the belt running crazy hot (21) to actually smoking I kid you not I could smell the belt smoking while climbing with the 19. Now that I have it working pretty good with the 19 (I can hold onto the belt, still hot but can hold it) I want to just try the 21 to see what it does.
