Gearing 02 MC 800 LE EFI 151

Anybody tell me what gears this sled came with stock? Should I change them out or is stock a good setup? Haven't had a chance to ride this sled yet but want to be ready when the snow flies. Typically boondocking and deep pow riding. Thanks

Should have been 20/39. If you want it to pull harder and climb better, you should gear it down some. The King Kats went as low as 19/43.

How far down can I go without a new chain? Limited budget. Thanks

Best talk to a dealer or supplier of gears. There are too many combos to try. You can definately do 18/41, but you may find that too low. 19/40 might be a good option.

hey , i am going thru the same dilemma , the stock gears are a 40-19 , and always change the chain as a match set , trust me i cheaped out twice and broke chains , that sucks when ur pullin a big hill , also i am gearing mine to a 43-19 , i ride with new doos and polaris and on the lake i waste em . they cant believe the speed i get , so consiquently for the mtns i am going to gear it down to the king cat specs , talked with some other cat guys and this is the thing to do !
