anybody order anything from gearhead.com in the last month? 3 weeks ago i ordered a recoil starter rope assembly for my xp and the mating part that goes on the engine got a confirmation email saying it would ship in 3-6 days. a week later no shipped email. so i emailed them and asked them when they were going to ship my parts. 4 days later i got a generic email back from them saying because of black friday sales they were swamped with orders and it could take an extra week to fulfill my order. that was a week ago and still no shipping confirmation from them... wondered if anybody else has ordered from them and if they got a shipping confirmation?
 
I was just gonna start a thread like this... Just filed a Paypal dispute with them. Zero communication from them since the sale 7 days ago... Maybe I'm impatient but everything I order nowadays I expect and almost always get a tracking # the next day.

So I open a paypal dispute and I get a message from gearhead that I get a $1.05 credit on my order with still no shipping info? Woopdefingdoo just send me my order and keep the dollar.
 
i got mad and sat on hold for awhile and got to speak to their rep, he told me that the part i ordered ski doo has changed the part # of and their system has been looking for the old part # to arrive and not the new part #. at first i was like great its been there a week and they haven't shipped it yet, he then tracked their supplier shipment to them and said my part should be to them in the next 2 days, not holding my breath, then i should receive a tracking #. but i agree really 3 weeks to fulfill an order??? glad my old parts are still halfway working and im not having to start it by wrapping a rope around the clutch or something. sure hope it arrives sometime soon or im out $200 bucks and nothing to show for it.
 
Not completely on topic, but in general I find E-bay to be much more expeditious at shipping items than Amazon, that said I did just receive a tool from GearHead that I purchased through Amazon. Seven days, not too bad to Alaska but I have experienced much slower. I can and have felt your pain, it definitely sucks when you are anxiously awaiting for something to arrive.

I'm curious if they are new to selling thru Amazon and are neglecting their own site in order to impress / meet some Amazon criteria? Possibly?

I ordered from them. 2 items. I got a phone call a few days after ordering saying 1 part was on back order. I called back to cancel the back ordered part and they sent the other part. Everything was good. I get a kick out of their recorded messages and emails.

So after ordering on 12/8, starting a paypal dispute on 12/16 and escalating it to a claim on 12/17 I got a tracking# and confirmation from the PO my order was shipped today (12/18) and the expected delivery is 12/22... Super slow IMO and the prices aren't that great either. Customer service never did respond to me and it took filing a paypal claim to get an answer. Look elsewhere for parts.
 
YEAH IM BECOMING VERY UNIMPRESSED WAS PROMISED IT WOULD SHIP OUT YESTERDAY AND STILL NO TRACKING NUMBER. PROBABLY GOING TO GIVE THEM ONE LAST CHANCE OVER THE WEEKEND AND THEN I WILL FILE A PAYPAL DISPUTE WITH THEM. THE SNOW IS COMING TO WYOMING MONDAY/TUESDAY FINALLY AND I WILL WANT TO BE ABLE TO GO WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SNOW.
 
filed paypal dispute they got back to me within a day.... they left my order out there so long from skidoo that they canceled it. so now they have to reorder it again and hopefully someday it will get to me..... before the snow is gone for the year.
 
I buy from them ALOT !! .. never a problem.

OEM parts are always a longer ship time, they have to order it from BRP then they ship it to you. BRP may change part numbers and they take their time.

I ordered a Fly SNX coat and pants for my son on black Friday ( for 75 each ) and that took about two weeks to get here but they were busy and sent out a 10% coupon via email before I even bothered to get worried.
 
went out riding this weekend and what do you know one of the parts i ordered from them a month ago that i was babying along in hopes it would last till my new parts arrived went bad. got frustrated and gave up on them and called a dealership 4 hours away from me and they had what i needed on hand and shipped it out to me this morning. emailed the sales rep i was dealing with at gearhead and cancelled my order. lesson learned
