Anyone else see the Ford parked at the entrance to Skatepark from the lake side at Kachess? I was not expecting that. I couldn't get a picture but I'm still trying to figure out how it got there. Looks like it spent the night.

Today was pretty good though. This morning wasn't bad but the best part of today was when my dad got stuck at Stampede today. First for him this year.

There are two other things I have noticed this year a lot too.

1) Trash. I find it everywhere in the GC/ Stampede area. Please clean up so my bag doesn't get so heavy.
2) LOT'S of new people. Some are starting the sport. There have been 3 or 4 new groups I have talked to. Also others that are trying out the Crystal Springs area. Gave directions to a couple people today.

Stay safe. It was dumping good when we left at 3 from Stampede. The pass was a mess. Be safe on the roads, not the in the hills.

Some people don't want to ride those areas anymore so they leave there trash. Good on you for picking up after the bums. The best is yet to come young sledder.

If you see someone leaving trash don't hesitate to tell them to pack it out. They packed it in.

Good on ya! The move I like is when someone stomps their trash into the snow like it will never be seen again. Minten it's ok to fire a rock at somebodies head if you see them do it. Most likely they will be wearing a helmet anyway?

I think the owner saw that Nissan commercial and wanted to try out Skate Park...what an idiot. Hope it's worth the fine and tow bill. :face-icon-small-dis

Ya seriously! I don't know how some idiot could even think about going up there. And then they had to walk back or what? I bet they called the National Guard in to find them.

As far as I noticed though the trash has been much worse at Stampede. Going out towards the microwave towers I have picked up like 6 Gatorade bottles from a group. It's common sense people.

Doobers

Yep, trash is always a problem. It's one of the quickest ways to get riding areas shut down. I have no problem telling people to pick it up and pack it out. Unfortunately the trash hucking doobers are just smart enough to wait til no one is around or watching to stomp it into the snow or fling it somewhere other than where it came from. Common sense and respect goes a long way.....

On Sunday we saw that bone stock SUV too, I think it's a Ford Escape but didn't look too close? We heard throught the grapevine the owner will be getting in the neighborhood of a $400 fine, not to mention the tow bill. I've heard if the snowcat has a chance to rescue it before it gets buried it going to be huge $$. Apparently it's not the first time some genius got their rig stuck up there.

If I was the owner I would buy 2 sets of chains, air down the tires, wait for a cold night after grooming and drive it out. Just don't F-up the trail !

Yup that's it. When was that picture taken it looks like a lot more snow then when I left at 1

IF it's still there come Thursday it'll just be another 'feature' in skatepark. Any good slope near where it was parked to land?

P.S: If I was the owner, I'd be nervous, this is the last vehicle I ran across out at GC in the winter:

I thought it could be part of a crime, but hopefully it was just some nutjob out doing something stupid with his baby SUV.

We came across it about 1:30 Sunday.

The second photo shows how high up this thing really is....:nono:

What a f'ing idiot....you would be surprised how many people try stuff like that in that area....too many people from the west side watching the commercials for their big bad 4x4 rigs I guess....hopefully it wil be there all winter.

If someone can get me the plate number I will make sure that the sheriff's office addresses the issue.

Isnt that the infamous "**** van" ? It had thousands of european **** mags in it... Which were still readable a couple layers down.

According to what I was told this was driven up there by some "romanian's" that had rented a vacation rental cabin in the kachess area and drove it up there and ended up spending the night in the vehicle before they got a way out.
