Gauges - Gone Screwy

Every now and then my gauges will go blank and my lights go off - nothing happens to the performance of the sled and within 20-30 seconds +/- they come back - acts up every so often and happens several times then it's OK for awhile and then it starts again. Anything other then a loose connection or short I should be worried about - had a look and there's nothing obviously loose.

i lost my speedo gauge the last ride..not sure when i will get around to checking it out..

check your chassis relay..see if the wires are chaffing or even if the relay is making full contact..

good luck joe joe...

A 900 I ride with was doing something like this and also the charging on the display was drawing down when the display was working that is. Turned out to be the group of stator wires had been rubbing on the chasis.

Voltage regulator. I go through a couple a season. Last year, I went through 4 until I relocated where it mounted. There is a lot of heat that goes through the hot terminal, and with the vibration, it becomes loose in the relay. Napa autoparts offer a better quality one from hella. Good to have a spare anyways. $5 or $7 bucks.
