Gates extreme belts?

I don't run that belt, but have run the XP belt in the past. 1st belt grenaded pretty quick, but it was mostly my fault. 2nd belt actually lasted a while with no issues. I was told by Todd (Todd's Automotive) to stop running that belt and go back to the Doo belt because the Gates weren't always the right length. I've never compared the Doo belts or Gates belts to each other, but he said he has come across Gates that have been different C/C measurements for the same part #. I've been screwing around with the crappy stock Doo clutching, so that probably doesn't help either. Might be fine for a replacement for the Poo, but that has been my experience with them.

I have them on my iq 600's, two seasons on the same belt. No problems and easier on the clutches. They don't carve into the metal like the polaris belt. I might try one on my turbo 600, but I haven't yet.

Hey guys,
I run the ultimax XS on my 08 700 dragon they work great never had a problem, and there is no way I'm paying 200 bucks for that F-in polaris belt, thats a retarded price.

Valid point. It's hard to pass up 2 belts for the price of 1 factory belt. My only prob is I have had more folks tell me to stick with the factory belt than to go with aftermarket. To each his own I guess. I guess if you have the right clutch set up you should expect to see at least 750-1000 miles out of a belt. That's a lot of riding, so what's another $100 for the belt if everything holds up??
