I'm having thoughts of converting my nytro with mcx turbo to run on propane.
My question is what is needed to make this happen? I'm not very familiar with lpg fuel delivery.
I know with the rear mount tank mounting might be a problem.

Sell your mcx kit, and call Brad Story.

That sounds like a good plan if you have $20K laying around. I like skidoo'nit kit for $600 idea. I have not idea what it takes to run propane but I know he will have it figured out at the end of the season.

Why would you need 20k?? remove the mcxpress kit, sell it for around 4 grand, have full pp kit turn key installed for 7 more, then enjoy $18 a day to ride the rest of the winter.

or wait for me to figure out some details and build your own... relatively speaking its simple enough... Just like anything, I imagine I will find some hurtles come runing/tuning time. But I am confident it can be done for less $$.

The issues with how im doing it are... fit/finish. First generation prototyped anything isnt pretty.. there are ALWAYS details to be ironed out with stupid little things. ANd workign on issues of getting the tanks filled as mine arent "propane" tanks.

if your really interested in doing something different, PM me and I can send you down the right path.. Once Im done with my system I would have no problem getting you a list of all the parts and suppliers for them.. Or halfway peicing you some stuff together.. Again, this would be after I get it done and would feel comfortable helping someone else do it.

I will admit, im not pro builder, just someone who likes to stray from the norm, and is willing to spend a lot of time wrenching/figuring instead of paying someone to do it. I feel that althought propane is a very strange thing to most, it has a LOT of benefits, and can be a very viable fuel option.. just needs some competition in the market to make it viable.. just like anything else.

Here is just a small list of reasons I like it

Cheap, often cheaper then regular fuel, let alone race gas.
gaseous fuel, meaning it runs upside down, and you can run it a LOT closer to truely empty then gasoline.
Easy to tune, its a lot simpler then most anything out there, some off the shelf parts might need modding for propper fueling in the sled application, but there are only 2 adjustments on the system.. and one is basically set and forget. There is also no electronics to do strange things.. just a few springs and diaphrams.
120+ octane?? lots of boost per cost of fuel.
and last but not least... its different.
