Gas tax going up????

Heard on CNN this afternoon that Obama is thinking about raising the gas tax since the American people are going back to their frugal traveling and getting complacent on our energy problem. So to punish us, we get to pay more for gas???? Never heard that during any of the campaigning......

The newpapers in our area are stating that since people have cut back so much on fuel usage, that there isn't enough gas tax money to fund all the projects planned. The way I see it there are three ways to fix it:

1. Raise Taxes
2. Decrease Spending
3. Steel money from somewhere else.

Oregon Governor just proposed a $0.02 increase on gas tax also...can't wait...

Fed is like .43 or so. Montana is .23 or so. (just filled up and looked at it )

Montana has a .075 cent clean up fee. I wonder who gets that??? Or better yet, what's it used for?

What a rip off. The price of gas goes down and they start taxing you more.
