Will an edge gas tank fit on the Gen II chassis?

a friend of mine has a 2001 800RMK gen 2 with a 2003 or 2004 not positive, Pro-X seat and clear tank on it.
Im prety sure the 2 pice gen2 tank and seat are the same tank as the edge tank . My friends 2000 xcsp came stock with the edge stile tank. the seats are diffrent edge has a kick up in middle of the seat and gen2 is a flat bottom seat.
the only difference is where the vent is and the fuel outlet, they will fit. I think when I did it I had to cut the top bracket because it would hit the vent. but that was a long time ago. the vent on the edge is in the middle top instead off to the side
