it used to, it'll go in my pack this year long with the other stuff in that bag that i need to spend the night.
i've flipped last years sled over with those guards on it they turned down, i loosened the bolt and put them back where they started. they are polaris mounts and i just sawed the mounts off the guards and drilled holes so they would work with them. the bungee is stuck through the holes on the running boards and sits between the bag and the tail light. the top part of the shovel holds it down there. last year i just used a short pull strap to hold it on the bumper but this sled is longer than my assault was, it won't go anywhere.
Generally, the plastic guards will bend a bit and I haven't broken one in 3 years - either on snow or on dirt single track. Typically, the mounting screw for the plastic slips and the guards turn downward when rolling the sled out of a stuck and they look like droopy dog ears. sometimes just lifting them back into place works, sometimes you have to retighten them. I usually retighten them a few times a year. The mounts will break every so often if your son lays it down on an icy trail in the woods. Oh, the allen head screws are metric so carry your metric hex key set.does the polaris guards have much flex?
hey thanks, they work really well, i'm going to get another one for the other sled.
