Gas Recomendations 09 800 RMK

Just curious what everyone's feelings are on just running 91 octane pump gas with this sled or should a person be mixing some Klotz booster, Av gas or race gas, not really looking for a boost in octane just trying to get a better fuel. It doesn't seem like our fuel is that great these days? THANKS!

I always run the highest octane pump gas I can find. 91 has always treated me just fine. I wouldn't want to go any lower though. I wouldn't think an octane booster of any kind would be necessary with your setup. A higher compression head may require it, but other wise just run pump.

I just run high octane (91) from a major station (Shell) and don't any problems. I am also now adding Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment to help combat any ethanol issues.

try to stay away from the ethanol Chevron is the only brand around here that never uses the stuff

At elevation with the 11.6:1 compression ratio that the new updated 800s have 87 will be fine, and generally of better quality based on the fact that stations sell far more regular fuel than premium. Last years motor with all its inherant issues with hard parts and software for the most part had no problem with 91, now with extra deto protection and lower compression there is no need for 91. Soooo run 87 with the wires plugged in and make sure you have no ethanol.
