Gas/Fuel prices. What will it do to resale?

Everything else is affected. What about resale? I didn't see any "smokin" deals on sleds in the swap.

I remember the day, not too long ago, when the value of a sled dropped quite a bit as soon as you left your dealer w/ it.

Share your thoughts.:beer;

I guess it depends, I see lots of smokin deals on mods, and sleds that are 2-3 years old
are prety good deals.

Maybe people are holding on taking a wait and see attitude? I guess if I was in the market today I would be sitting still just waiting to see how things play out. Maybe a lot of guys are simply saying, I'll wait one more year or something?

Uhh I dunno what you're looking at, but that is still very very true. Sled resale has definetly not increased in the last few years. Some models are more desireable than others and these are the one's that hold value....like anything else.

In my experience, you can't sell anything right now unless you're giving it away....cars, trucks, sleds, boats....anything except maybe real estate, but that depends where.

What guys ask and what they get are 2 different things....

I know of several people who have had good clean sleds for sale for almost a year now. I have noticed several boats and campers for sale around here. The other day one of the local auto dealerships was advertising a diesel truck “disposal” sale. :eek: Yikes. Good time to buy a diesel if you’re looking, and if you can afford the fuel. Just don’t try and trade one in. Street bikes are selling well. Starting to see a lot of scooters running around as well. Everyone is licensing their ATVs.

aside buyin my sled's my bike is the best thing i bought so far 2 weeks of driveing it to work saves me almost 120$ is gas in my truck bike payment=140 mo its paying for it self and i enjoy rideing rain or shine 14$fill up 58 mpg

Working in the industry, we are still seeing a growth in the street bike sector. It's the only area that people can actually impact fuel prices. Dirtbiking and snowmobiling are both recreation and usually require not only fuel in the toy, but also a tow vehicle.
Depending on where you ride and how far you travel. You may also have hotel and food to consider. I'm already cancelling summer vacations to prepare for this winter since I would rather do that.
We are seeing a serious hit to our economy, prices on day to day items are increasing astronimically. People who are already into snowmobiling will likely continue although they will be less likely to buy a new sled. People may continue to hold onto their sleds for longer than usual.
On the other side of the coin, selling a used sled is going to be like selling a house. A buyers market. You will see the screaming deals when people are sitting on their old sleds for months.
