Gas caddy needed?

Last year when my Pro blew up I rented an AXYS as it snowed 2'+. I only rode for 4 hours and when we got back to town I put in 10.5 gallons. I never needed a caddy on my Pro but do these machines suck that much gas? I'd rather install one if I need it but don't want one of I don't need it. Is everyone making it through the day no problem?

I can make it through about a 5 hour day, but I'm on the east coast and do a lot of tight tree riding, not much for wide open runs. might be a little different out west, more wide open stuff including wide open throttle. Not sure where your riding, but that's my input for you

That's very odd. In only 2+ ft of snow, a full tank of fuel should last nearly all day. Did you verify it was full of fuel before you left? May seem like a stupid question, but forgetting to fill up the tank before a ride does happen on occasion :)

X2. My axys I think uses slightly slightly more gas but hardly noticeable. I ride all day and never fill up but all of my riding is tight technical tree riding and we spend half the day pulling each other out.

Axys tank holds about 11.5 gal. I think the most I have ever put in is maybe 7 gal after riding all day. If you ride with any of the E-tech guys they will be crying about gas when your at a 1/2 tank.

I'm guessing your rental sled was not full when you got it. It can be down 2-3 gal and almost read full on the gauge. Rental shops tend to get a bit creative at getting more money out of you, this would fall into that category.

No need to carry gas unless you do a bunch of trail riding during the day. Eric

Same here, I generally carry gas- but riding with my Arctic Cat and E-Tec buddies.. I quit carring a gas can.
I carry tools and they carry gas. and overall they use the gas way before we need any tools..LOL
I would say you were not topped off- as the axys fuel gauge ( if you take it out and move the float by hand) it will read full before you top out the float.

X2.

So True !!! And funny being towed into town.

It is tough though when them dooskis weight so much and with their awesome front-end geometry they pack with snow too fast to get any speed up .

Need to get a Yamatank to come meet us halfway and drag them back so we can keep riding !!
