Garden valley Riding

Hey guys I'm going out to Idaho over the holidays and was wondering about the riding out in the Garden Valley area more specific Crouch area? Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks Dave

In the crouch area u can ride a few places. Packer John over by Terrace Lakes and also access it from Scriver creek rd. You can also ride to a year round pool and lodge called Silver Creek Plunge. Dead Wood is another place to ride as well as Bear Valley in Loman.

Bummer, thought it would be fun to run from Smiths Ferry over to Crouch and grab a burger & Brew at the LongRanch....guess Silver Creek has a hot pool though!

There are great riding opportunities all over that area. Even some good stuff riding right from your door in and around Terrace Lakes community. Head up Packer John towards Smith's Ferry. At the top is pretty cool stuff depending on your skill set. Back towards the SW from the trail summit is Garden Mountain (it overlooks the confluence of the two Payette rivers just prior to the confluence of the Main) and is BIG TIME RIDING...or keep on the trail towards Smith's Ferry and drop into Scriver Creek drainage which has been heavily logged and is fun....or continue on into the North Fork drainage cross hwy 55 at Smith's Ferry and run on up to the TRI POD area. If you have the gumption you eventually can work you way up into the radar dome areas of West Mtn. That would be a long long trip but it can be done and is cool.

I've also ridden a ton back up the middle fork past Terrace Lakes up in Lightening Creek and a place known as the "Webfoot" which is way back in and you can eventually drop into round valley over East Mtn about 20 miles before Cascade Idaho. You will have to trailer to the end of the road at lightening creek to access this ride but it's big and cool. Very remote! Also start there and instead of following the way N you can turn East and go up to the hot springs. Not that great of free riding up at the pool (thick) but a nice family trail ride and swim if that place is still going.

Another ride pretty close to Terrace Lakes is trailering to Scott Mtn Road on the hwy towards Lowman (about 30 minutes). Brutal trail (no grooming) but up on top of Scott Mtn is really fun riding. There are some no come out the bottom areas if you can't climb out East towards the deadwood river so be careful here. Don't drop in too far or you'll have a real bad day in there. Staying up on the first main bench all around the top of Scott mtn is epic riding. Just don't go more then a mile down the hill to the east or we'll never hear from you again! You can head on over into the Deadwood area for burgers and fun riding at the Deadwood lodge if you stay on the Scott Mtn Road over the top.

That batch of stuff would keep you busy for a winter!
