Thanks for the heads up on the huckleberries.
My wife and I have always waited until the last week of
August to go picking. Saw your comment then
decided to go yesterday. Our usual patch was
pretty sparse, almost no berries at all. we started
exploring and it was starting to look pretty bleak
for huckleberries for us this year. Then after lunch
we found a patch on a north slope just loaded. We
were able to pick five quarts in an hour and a half.

That hike you took certainly must have given the
boots a good break-in.

I came in from the Teanaway side, so I'm not sure.

The shack was still there the last week in June.

Who ever decided to construct and use that thing should pick up after themselves.
